Title | PHENOLS BY GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY |
Abstract | Method 8040 provides gas chromatographic conditions for the detection of phenolic compounds. Prior to analysis, samples must be extracted using appropriate techniques (see Chapter Two for guidance). Both neat and diluted organic liquids (Method 3580, Waste Dilution) may be analyzed by direct injection. A 2 to 5 4L sample is injected into a gas chromatograph using the solvent flush technique, and compounds in the GC effluent are detected by a flame ionization detector (FID). |
